We’re excited to announce the release of Milo 2023.1, which features a totally rewritten rendering pipeline that improves rendering speed, memory usage, and image quality. Also we’ve added native binary support for the newest Apple Silicon Macs, plus a few other treats like improved FBX file loading speed. Grab the update and check out the video below!

Under the hood we’ve upgraded Milo to the latest version of the Unreal Engine (5.2). This brings several benefits to speed and quality on its own, but also allows us now to support universal binaries on Mac that run natively on Apple’s M1 and M2 processors. The new rendering pipeline we’ve implemented on top of this creates renders that look much more exactly like what you see on screen in the app. Put together, this especially improves turntable video renders (in speed, memory usage, and quality), and you can now see the progress of your turntable renders as they’re being generated. We hope you’ll love it!
New in this Update:
- Rewritten rendering pipeline improves speed, memory usage, and rendering quality
- Turntable renders now interactively show rendering progress
- Upgraded under the hood to Unreal Engine version 5.2
- Added universal binary support on Mac, now runs natively on M1 and M2 processors
- Much-improved loading speed for FBX files
